I started this website in 2022 as part of my resolution to write more blog posts. However, freelance work often took priority over investing in my own platform. I published sporadically over the next four years, despite having a complete content strategy mapped out and a backend full of unfinished drafts.
Then, in June 2026, I had the opportunity to work with Poker Dream in Taiwan, marking my return to serious live reporting after a two-year hiatus. During that trip, I realized that poker-related work had always been the most fulfilling part of my career, despite the grueling hours and the toll it sometimes took on my mental health.
However, unlike photography and videography, which are more straightforward, live reporting is not always a priority within Asian poker, especially in countries with strict regulations around gambling and journalism.
While I want to pursue more opportunities in the industry, I also need to build something that lets me keep growing creatively and professionally between poker projects.
So I’ve decided to invest fully in myself and this website while waiting for the next trip or an invitation from poker media organizations.
Retiring Grae Content Digital Marketing Services
When I originally built this site, it primarily served as the online home of Grae Content Digital Marketing Services, where I could discuss branding, content creation, freelancing, and digital marketing, and promote my services.
Over the years, I have worked across content writing, editing, management, and strategy, as well as marketing, design, academic/business consultancy, education, livestreaming, community moderation, and poker reporting. I have created content for businesses, taught university students, built online communities, covered poker tournaments across Asia, and accepted more than a few assignments simply because I have never been one to say no to a challenge.
Eventually, the website began to accumulate all those different parts of my career without giving visitors a clear way to understand how they fit together.
Grae Content Digital Marketing Services is still part of my professional identity, but GAMARAE.COM is becoming a broader platform built around me as a freelance content creator, digital marketer, poker media, and creative writer.
I recently started revamping the website to better reflect who I am, what I do, and what I actually want to create going forward. I started with a new logo featuring a spade-like shape, but retained everything else from GCDMS, including the brand colors and fonts.
Once I had the logo, I began making small adjustments to ensure the rest of the website matched it. Then, as I added more content, I noticed other things that could be improved: the homepage needed a clearer introduction, my different areas of work needed their own paths, and older pages no longer reflected where I wanted the website to go.
One adjustment naturally led to another. A visual update gradually became a larger review of how the website was organized, what it communicated, and how visitors could find the content most relevant to them. The new logo gave the site an updated identity and revealed that the structure needed to evolve.
Business Website to a Personal Creative Hub
As I transition into full-time content creation, this update allows me to publish work beyond the conventional boundaries of a business website. I still want to write about content, branding, digital marketing, and freelancing. But I want to expand my Poker 101 series, make digital products, document my experiences at poker events, share more of my personal observations, and create practical resources for people building unconventional careers.
Instead of forcing everything into a single category, the revamped website gives each part of my work a clearer place.
The updated homepage will introduce four main content paths: Freelancing, Content and Marketing, Poker, and Creative, representing different areas of my professional experience, personal interests, and creative work.
Freelance
I started freelancing in 2006, before working from home became normal and long before I understood that freelancing could become an actual career. I learned much of it by doing the work, making mistakes, adapting to different clients, and taking on projects I had never encountered before.
There was no roadmap when I began. I was in survival mode, taking whatever projects I could find and looking for more clients. I have made some costly mistakes along the way, but fortunately, I am still here. The Freelancing section will bring together practical guides, honest career lessons, resources, and stories from the strange collection of professional side quests that got me here.
I plan to cover more topics on finding and managing clients, building a portfolio, developing a personal brand, handling irregular income, creating sustainable systems, and expanding beyond the work people already know you can do.
Content and Marketing
Writing, content creation, and marketing have been my bread and butter throughout my freelance career. This section gives me a place to share what I have learned about how ideas are developed, communicated, and turned into strategies that support larger business goals.
I want to explore why certain approaches work, how content shapes the way people understand a brand, and how businesses can make more deliberate marketing decisions. I will also examine real campaigns, emerging trends, and the ethical questions that come with influencing an audience.
This section will include practical content guides, branding theories, digital marketing strategies, campaign analyses, case studies, and advertising ethics. It will also demonstrate how I approach content and marketing for businesses and organizations interested in working with me.
Poker
Poker started as another side quest and became one of my favorites.
Since I started live poker reporting in 2022, I have covered events in the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan. Working behind the scenes introduced me to a whole world of tournament structures, player stories, dramatic eliminations, improbable comebacks, and conversations about folded hands that can apparently last the rest of the day.
The Poker section will include my professional portfolio, event coverage, commentary, and the growing Poker 101 series.
Poker 101 is intended for people who are curious about the game but find the terminology and assumed knowledge intimidating. The series explains poker rules, vocabulary, tournaments, live-game procedures, and other concepts in a way beginners can follow.
Creative
The Creative Writing section is home to the writing I do for myself: opinion pieces, essays, stories, prompts, and ideas that reflect my thoughts, principles, and values. These posts allow me to explore personal experiences, develop observations, ask difficult questions, and follow ideas wherever they lead. Some begin with writing prompts, while others come from things I have witnessed, questioned, or read.
Over time, I hope this section becomes a meaningful collection of my perspectives and creative work, where readers can understand what I do, how I think, and what matters to me.
Making My Work Easier to Find
One of the main goals of this revamp is to make the website easier to navigate. Previously, much of my work was scattered across blog posts, category archives, service pages, social media accounts, external publications, and links I probably forgot to save somewhere.
The improved website will gradually add dedicated pages for:
- Content writing and editing services
- Poker content and media services
- Selected portfolio work
- Case studies
- Freelancing guides
- Content and marketing resources
- Poker 101 lessons
- Training and workshops
- Digital products and free resources
- Media and event experience
Not all these pages will appear at once.
Creating More from What I Already Have
Another reason for the revamp is that I want to stop creating everything from zero. I have years of articles, drafts, research, lessons, graphics, event coverage, emails, unfinished ideas, and professional experiences that could become useful content. Some materials need updating and others need a permanent home.
The new structure will help me turn that existing body of work into guides, case studies, social content, downloadable resources, and new blog posts. It also gives me a clearer system for connecting everything I’ve already done with what I want to do in the future. A freelancing article can lead to a practical template. A Poker 101 lesson can lead to related terminology. A marketing discussion can link to a case study showing how the idea works in practice.
The goal is to publish more and make everything easier to explore and more useful once it is published.
A Website that Grows with Me
I used to think a professional website needed to present one perfectly consistent version of a person, which would be difficult when your career has been built by following curiosity into wildly different rooms.
Instead of hiding that range, the revamped GAMARAE.COM is designed around it. Freelancing connects the career. Content and marketing connect the skills. Poker represents one of the industries those skills have taken me into.
There may be more side quests in the future as I transition into full-time content creation. The difference is that the website will now have enough structure to accommodate them without needing an identity crisis every time I become interested in something new.

The new homepage is live, but this is only the beginning of the revamp.
Over the coming months, I will continue improving the service pages, organizing my portfolio, expanding Poker 101, publishing more freelancing and marketing content, and creating practical digital resources.
The changes will not happen overnight because this is an unfunded one-person project. I am rebuilding GAMARAE.COM independently, without external help or outside investment. I am handling the strategy, writing, editing, design, organization, technical adjustments, and content migration myself while looking for new opportunities.
As a result, the revamp will take time. Rather than waiting until every page is complete before publishing anything, I am making and releasing improvements gradually. Some sections are already live, while others are still being written, redesigned, organized, or rescued from whichever forgotten folder they have been sitting in.
